Dutch municipal post · two machine pipelines
Which English version would you rather receive?
A letter from the gemeente, the Belastingdienst or DUO is hard work if you do not read Dutch. This study compares two ways of turning one into plain English: translate the Dutch first and simplify the English, or simplify the Dutch first and then translate it. You read the Dutch original, rate both English versions, and say which one you would rather get in the post.
